It’s Back to School Time at Trophy Central, Which Means More Trophies, More Winners and More SHOW US YOUR SUE!

Kristen Lamb, author of the Dani P. Mystery series for kids, is Trophy Central's Show Us Your Sue award winner | Trophy Central - custom school trophies and awards

We can barely contain our excitement to announce that Kristen Lamb, author of the Dani P. Mystery series for children, has won Trophy Central’s “Show Us Your Sue” trophy for “Excellence in Inspiring Kids to Read and Write.”

Congratulations, Kristen!!!

Inspired by Sue Heck’s indefatigable persistence, positivity and resilience on ABC’s sitcom The Middle, Trophy Central is thrilled that our Random Acts of Trophy-ness “Show Us Your Sue” campaign is delivering so many smiles — and trophies — to so many trophy-worthy people.

And Kristen’s trophy coincides perfectly with back-to-school time, seeing as her Dani P. Mystery series is read in classrooms. If you’re a teacher and want to include Dani P. Mystery as part of your reading and writing curriculum, you can print out a teaching resource packet directly through the Dani P. Mystery website here!

We love seeing on Kristen’s social media accounts all the letters she receives from students she inspired to read and write through her Dani P. Mystery books. And what makes Kristen extra trophy-worthy is that she responds to each letter individually to make each student feel special and to inspire each student to keep writing and to keep falling in love with the magical worlds in books!

Kristen Lamb even makes special classroom visits (through Skype for out-of-town classrooms and in-person for local classes) to talk to students who are reading her Dani P. Mystery series and to spread her message of the importance of reading and writing.

An Award for Making the World a Better Place

When Kristen Lamb received her Random Acts of Trophy-ness “Show Us Your Sue” award for “Excellence in Inspiring Kids to Read and Write,” she created a lovely graphic with a picture of her trophy and a picture of Dani P. Mystery being read in a classroom.

Her graphic made us smile, as did her heartfelt words on her Facebook page:

I’d love to encourage you to #support Trophy Central when thinking of purchasing trophies, ribbons, etc. for your next sporting, school, or corporate event.

You are so welcome, Kristen Lamb! Thank YOU for the incredibly kind recommendation of our trophies and awards, but more important than that, thank you for making the world a better place by inspiring kids to read and write! That is so “Show Us Your Sue”!

All of us at Trophy Central would also like to thank Sharna Fulton, creator of the Chloe Pink cartoon and persona (and previous Show Us Your Sue winner for “Best Girl Power Advocate”) for nominating Kristen Lamb for our Show Us Your Sue Random Acts of Trophy-ness campaign. You helped us find a real winner, and we thank you for all YOU do to inspire girls to be empowered.

There are No Obstacles for Those Who Refuse to Give Up!

In the meantime, SHOW US YOUR SUE! We want more nominations for more trophy-worthy people who, like Sue Heck, never, EVER gives up!

When Sue Heck’s teacher made fun of her science hypothesis of “Is Smiling Contagious?” our Sue Heck was not defeated! So what if one of her fellow classmates was trying to cure cancer?! Sue Heck was trying to make the world better by proving that smiling can create a chain reaction that makes the world a happier and kinder place!

In Sue’s final report, she confidently writes:

“Is smiling contagious? After many attempts with multiple subjects, including family, friends, a Red Lobster waitress and an unfriendly baby, I unfortunately was unable to prove my hypothesis.

“However, like many scientists before me, I refuse to admit defeat.

“It took Einstein 10 years to prove E = mc squared and if it takes me that long to prove smiling is contagious then I am up for the challenge…

“Some might laugh at me, I know, just as they laughed at John Burton. He was told in high school that he would never be a scientist. He just won the Nobel Prize! I guess it just proves that being dismissed by people who think they know better, is not an obstacle to winning a Nobel Prize. So I will continue with my research one smile at a time until I prove that smiling is contagious, because I don’t want to live in a world where it isn’t.”

In case you hear cheering as you’re reading this, that’s our Trophy Central team WOOOO-HOOOO-ing the inspiration behind our Show Us Your Sue Campaign!

Let’s keep the cheering going! Who in your life inspires YOU? Who do you know who refuses to give up, who makes the world a better place and who deserves our Random Acts of Trophy-ness “Show Us Your Sue” trophy?!

Please tell us about that special person in the comments section below, or tag us on Twitter, Facebook or Google Plus using the hashtag #ShowUsYourSue.

We can’t wait to make the special Sue Heck in YOUR life smile by sending YOUR Sue a trophy! After all, at Trophy Central, it’s the smile that matters!
