Motivational Posters and Motivational Art! Plus a New Trophy Winner Announced!

Sue Heck The Middle college dorm room

If The Middle’s Sue Heck only knew about the latest “Show Us Your Sue” winner Jennifer Broderick’s art, it would likely join her motivational posters on her dorm room wall of inspiration.

Along with Sue’s “No Negative Thoughts Allowed” and her “I Can and I Will” poster featuring an adorable puppy chocolate lab, Jennifer’s triumphant doodles (recently on display at the Miami Art Biennial art exhibit) would fit right in.

Why? Because Jennifer Broderick’s art exudes the “I Can and I Will” mentality that oozes out of each and every pore of Trophy Central’s muse, Sue Heck.

Sue’s “I Can and I Will” philosophy inspired our Random Acts of Trophy-ness “Show Us Your Sue Award”.

With our Show Us Your Sue campaign, we are on a mission to deliver trophies — and smiles! — to underdogs, dreamers & everyday heroes who inspire.

Congratulations, Jennifer Broderick, on being latest winner of our Show Us Your Sue trophy!!!!!

Fighting Adversity with an Award-Worthy Attitude

How could we resist sending Jennifer a trophy after we received a heartfelt nomination from author and storyteller Katherine Kotaw, longtime supporter of our Show Us Your Sue campaign?!

Katherine says that “Jennifer’s Broderick’s art are messages of triumph.”

We at Trophy Central couldn’t agree more!

Jennifer Broderick has boldly shared with the world that she uses art as a means of coping with mental illness. But she doesn’t just cope — she thrives.

Jennifer Broderick is the owner of Jennifer! Designs and is co-owner of StationTEEN, a stationery company branded to teenagers (with adorable designs that surely — and miraculously! —make a ton of teens put down their iPhones in place of pen and paper!) She also runs a successful Society 6 shop, where her museum-quality doodles are sold on a variety of items, including rugs, duvets, pillows, iPhone and iPod skins, shower curtains, leggings and more! You can also buy framed art prints of her doodles if you’re like Sue Heck and looking to hang up some inspiration on your wall!

Jennifer Broderick (like Sue Heck!) is full of inspiration. She says “It’s important for people with mental illness to know that it’s only a part of who they are. It doesn’t define them.”

Just in case you’re wondering, the official title of Jennifer’s “Show Us Your Sue” Random Acts of Trophy-ness trophy is “Excellence in Inspiring the World Through Art”.

We at Trophy Central think that Sue Heck would approve!

Now it’s YOUR turn! Do you want to see an inspirational person in YOUR life win a trophy? Then SHOW US YOUR SUE! 1. What can I say? Winning the “Show Us Your Sue” Random Acts of Trophy-ness trophy in “Excellence in Inspiring the World Through Art” is quite an honor. Special thanks to Katherine Kotaw for the nomination and Trophy Central for dreaming up such an awesome award.
It’s my dream that when people are experiencing depression that they turn to the visual arts for comfort. It’s important to know that being good at art is not important. The pleasure comes from the act itself, and that is where the healing begins.

    1. Hi Jennifer! Sincerest apologies for the delayed response to your lovely comment!! Your powerful words somehow got buried in spam and I am only seeing this now.

All of us at Trophy Central are so honored to have awarded you for being the inspirational person and artist that you are. As Katherine Kotaw said so eloquently when she nominated you for this award, you truly are making the world a better place by sharing your art and your story.

Thank you for speaking out to help other people dealing with depression or mental illness. You and your art are a great big beacon of hope. Just looking at the selection of your artwork that we chose to include in this blog about you makes all of us at Trophy Central smile.

We look forward to seeing more and more of your art on social media. Congratulations on finishing your “One Doodle a Day For One Year” project. That was quite an undertaking and such an inspiration in the power of persistence and determination.

      1. Hi again Jennifer! One more note to say all of us at Trophy Central know you will keep healing people with your art and your story and that is why you are so SHOW US YOUR SUE! You’re our hero! And we have a pretty good feeling that Sue Heck would feel the exact same way!
